(DVD) - T'łina Rendering of Wealth
$40.00
In T'łina, the Rendering of Wealth, 'Na̱mgis filmmaker Barb Cranmer presents a visually compelling and moving documentary about the power of community and the strength of tradition. Cranmer travels with her family and others from the Kwakwa̱ka̱'wakw Nation on their annual journey to the sacred place known as Dzawadi. Here, in BC's remote Knight Inlet, they practise the age old tradition of rendering oil - tłina - from the tiny eulachon fish. Widely traded throughout the Pacific Northwest for thousands of years, tłina remains a vital food supply, trade good and symbol of cultural wealth.
