Each 4 Coppers cotton throw has been ethically woven on a pedal loom by the family of Arturo Hernandez in Mitla, Oaxaca.

For the Kwakwaka'wakw people, and other people's of the Pacific Northwest potlatch culture, the copper holds significant importance as the symbol of a Hereditary Chief's wealth, power, and influence. Copper's are named and retained in families for generations. A Copper is a symbolic shield that is used in Northwest Coast Indigenous culture to denote the rank and wealth of chiefs in Kwakwaka'wakw culture, and plays a central role in our potlatch ceremonies.

Further, the number four holds deep sacred significance within our culture, embodying a profound spiritual meaning that resonates through various aspects of our traditions and beliefs.
